Biography

Dr Ahmed Nassar is an abdominal transplant surgeon at Emory University hospital. He joined the Emory Department of Surgery in 2021 after completing his abdominal transplant surgery fellowship at the Emory Transplant Center. He completed his general surgery residency in 2019, and his research fellowship in ex-vivo organ perfusion both at the Cleveland Clinic in Ohio. During his research fellowship, he assisted in developing an organ perfusion device that received an investigational device exemption from the FDA for clinical use. Dr Nassar has a specific interest in organ perfusion, preservation and rehabilitation. He has authored multiple publications and books chapters in the field of transplantation. He is also interested in medical student and resident education having won multiple awards in that fields. Dr Nassar is board certified by the American Board of Surgery and the American Society of Transplant Surgeons
